Freemark Abbey 2008 Edelwein Gold

Medium intensity golden yellow - nicely saturated color. Delicate floral bouquet of honeysuckle, rose apple, honeydew melon, and lychee. Delightfully light on the tongue, but excellent concentration of sweet melon and ripe nectarines uplifted by little white flowers and a little orange rind. On the sweet side but stays away from being cloying, and being light-bodied helps. Long finish including apricot and a slight snappy astringency of pear skin that is refreshing at this early age.
