The 1980 vintage can be considered as exceptionally rare, due to one of the smallest crops ever known in the Cognac region, producing only 5.31 Hlpa per hectare. The vineyards suffered from the cold from start to finish, even suffering a frost at harvest time which almost killed an already very limited crop. This tough and unusual context makes the CAMUS 1980 Vintage Cognac from Grande Champagne a most unusual and rare one, offering a delicate nose with hints of citrus aromas, tobacco and cinnamon, and a sumptuous long and powerful palate with hazelnut and apricot dominance and a gingerbread finish.
