Sans Liege Groundwork Rose 2010

This full and fruity Rose is mostly Grenache, but has a dose of Mourvedre blended in as well.  Curt Schalchlin let slip that he added a whole barrel of red to the blend which explains its larger-than-life personality. The Mourvedre added a fullness to the palate and also stained the wine a deep cherry red, making for a serious and sexy Rose that is designed for red wine drinkers. The nose shows hints of watermelon, crushed berries and citrus leading to a sweet and savory palate of red citrus, melon, strawberry and pepper. This fresh and fruity Rose is a summer treat and a must have for any picnics or BBQ’s!
