. The 2006 L'Aventure Estate Côte à Côte is reflective of winemaker Stephan Asseo's commitment to showcasing Rhône varietals in Paso Robles. A blend of 40% mourvèdre, 30% grenache and 30% syrah, all from the L'Aventure Estate, this is a shimmering, gem-toned wine has a vibrant nose evocative of red summer fruit and spice. On the palate, the wine reveals layers of ripe blueberry and black cherry fruit complemented by graphite and acacia flower. It is full-bodied with firm tannins and plenty of stuffing to age for a decade or more. 96 points Robert Parker: "The 2006 Cote a Cote Proprietary Red is a blend of 40% Mourvedre, 30% Grenache, and 30% Syrah. Another superstar in the L-Aventure portfolio, it possesses an inky/purple color along with a sumptuous, sweet bouquet of roasted meats, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis, licorice, and chocolate. Dense and full-bodied with fabulous intensity, opulence, and flesh, but no hard edges, it will provide immense pleasure over the next decade."
