Clos La Chance Syrah 2003

Connoisseur’s Guide to California Wine, (March 2006): Rich aromas of ripe berries, coffee, toast and minerals introduce this nicely balanced and well-filled bargain, and despite the wine’s mixed cepage, its essential message is one of very solid Syrah. Moderately full-bodied, fairly supple in feel and persistent on the palate, it is firmed by trim tannins and shows both more depth and varietal range than is unexpected at the price.
